It may be that many of us still think that the work of coloring the walls is a very easy part in building or renovating homes. At first glance it seems indeed easy, and does not require special abilities. But actually there are technical things that we need to know so that the arrangement of paint that we have applied can last a long time, and not face destruction in a short time.
Our paint, Alkycoat Deco Weatherguard, for example, provides a 5-year guarantee that does not fade and does not peel. But the product requires certain conditions with the explanation “under specified condition”. This means that the guarantee is given only if its application explores the conditions recommended by us.
In the author’s observation, the provisions as recommended by the paint manufacturers in fact many were done improperly. For example there are parts of the stages that are passed, the use of materials that are not right, or determining the dose that is not right. In this matter also must be observed before the state of the surface to be painted must meet the specified requirements.
Then what is the correct method of wall coloring? The following will describe the procedures and stages of wall painting recommended by the Alkycoat paint factory:
1. Make sure the wall you want to paint is really dry (minimum of one month after acian), or when testing the humidity of the wall shows the optimal rate of 16%.
2.Rinse the surface of the wall from the remaining scraps or dirt. Rinse also the wall from the dust attached.
3.If there are hair cracks or small holes in the wall, use a wall plamir or wall filler to close it. Application of plamir or wall filler is only on the part that is cracked (not flattened to all wall surfaces).
4.Apply Alkycoat Deco primer Alkaline resisting wall primer (water based) without dilution. Alkycoat Deco Alkali resisting wall primer is a basic paint for walls made of acrylic emulsion, which is friendly to the area and does not have heavy metals (lead and mercury). This product is most important for painting new and efficient walls to avoid degradation caused by alkaline cement. This product has good penetration expertise on the substrate (surface), distributes good sticky energy for the final coat (top coat) and is easily applied and is useful for resisting the appearance of chamber salt and water seepage. Use Alkycoat Deco alkali resisting wall primer for outer or inner chambers with large alkaline content.
5.Apply the initial coat finish with + 10% dilution.
6.Apply the second coat finish without dilution. The distance between the initial paint finish application and the two minimum is 2 hours.
Note that must be observed:
1.Waiting for a dry wall before painting is a matter of principle. If this is violated, the effect would be “bedwetting paint” because the contents of the water trapped in the chamber pushes out, and the impact disrupts the composition of the paint.
2.Waiting for a month after the acian to start painting must be very long. Acian uses cement Computer does require a long drying time. To overcome this problem, the material for acian can be exchanged with practical cement for acian. With this material, painting can be tried after the age of acian reaches 7 days. The use of this material can also save the job of painting, because it does not permeate the paint material.
3.The use of wall filler and primary alkali resisting should be of the same brand as the paint product. When using a different brand you should use a product that is equivalent and not of low quality.
4.Many fundamental errors occur when the application of plamir (wall filler). As described above, plamir is only applied to cracked cubicles or small holes. But many flattened plamir on all walls. This is an error, especially if the plamir application is evenly tried on an outside booth. The impact is severe, is that plamir is going to be easy to peel off, because actually plamir does not have strong adhesion (adhesion) to the wall. For applications in an outdoor booth, the matter is further compounded by the influence of hot weather and rain.
5.The type of paint used must be adjusted to the zone that is to be applied. In this matter, the inner paint should not be used for the outer wall, because it would cause calcification in the chamber when the paint is touched.
Some of the following conditions must be avoided because they want to cause the wall paint to melt (go down), are: the composition of the wall paint is very thick, the composition of wall paint is very thin, coloring in times of humid conditions and very light drying due to direct sunlight.
